What is Sexual Assault?

"Sexual Assault" refers to sexual contact without the victim's consent. Rape, attempted rape, incest, and unwanted sexual touch are all types of sexual assault.

You have done nothing wrong. You are a victim of a crime. Please don't let guilt or shame stop you from asking for help. Often when a person is assaulted, he or she tries to push it out of his or her mind, thinking it will go away. That often does nothing but make the "bad" feelings feel worse. What does help is talking about it with a trusted friend, a family member, or a counselor from a rape treatment center.
