History of Renew, Inc.

Renew is the agency which began serving domestic violence/sexual assault victims/survivors in the 22nd Judicial District of Southwestern Colorado in 1981.  Renew victim services are comprehensive and include the only local 24/7 hotline; professional therapy; peer counseling and support; advocacy in the courtroom, at the hospital, at investigative and forensic interviews, etc; emergency shelter, food and transportation; and the ONLY non-system advocacy in the area which informs victims of their rights and helps protect those rights!  We are staffed primarily by volunteers, PLUS one full time and one part-time employee, a contracted attorney, and a contracted therapist.  We expanded our outreach services to Dolores county and the Ute Mountain Reservation in 2001.
